Why speed networking?
When business people attend conferences and other networking events, they tend to gravitate towards people they know, and don’t always meet new individuals or business contacts. The "throw-everyoneinto- a-room" system of commonplace networking events is especially daunting for someone who may be shy or new to the marketplace.
With increasingly busy schedules, business people spend a lot of time trying to make the necessary contacts to keep their businesses growing. Time is of the essence.
SPEED NETWORKING is a new and fresh way to build your business Network in a time efficient manner!
SPEED NETWORKING is a networking event with an accelerated twist. The program is specifically designed to allow attendees the quick and entertaining opportunity to introduce themselves and pitch their company to other people in business.
With a unique format, participants of SPEED NETWORKING will meet more people, make more contacts, and generate more business ideas in one short evening, than they ever thought was possible at a networking event!
How It Works With all participants seated in two rows, the SPEED NETWORKING sessions will commence. During each fast paced session, participants will be able to network face-to-face. After the end of each session, participants will quickly alternate their seating arrangements to pair up with their next networking opportunity.
This process will continue until all participants have interacted with each
other.
In just a few minutes, participants will share business cards, history and offer new contacts with valuable informationabout their business.
For example: • Who do you know that might need their
services?
• Who has a similar client base and might like to exchange client leads with them?
• How might each company do business with one another?
• Can you introduce them to anyone who can help them?
After the official SPEED NETWORKING event is over, participants are encouraged to continue networking throughout the evening
NETWORKING is the single most powerful marketing approach to accelerate and sustain success for any Business!
Ask any senior executive, politician, or successful salesperson which one skill or habit helped them excel in their career and an overwhelming majority will respond with one simple word… Networking.
Networking is the art of connecting with people on a personal level and using that contact to benefit you, your family friends and business connections. People like to deal with people, not with institutions. We are all more comfortable dealing with somebody we know and, more importantly, someone we feel best knows us and therefore has our best interests at heart. But remember networking is a reciprocal process in which you share ideas, leads, information, advice, brainstorms, introductions and friendships.
Waterford Network is hosting their June Networking event in the Ramada Viking Hotel on Wednesday the 25th June at 6.00pm with the Waterford chapter of The BNI Network and other Waterford networking groups. This will be an evening not to be missed for anyone in business who wants to get out there and meet potential customers
Just Remember that effective networking involves discovering, developing and unlocking connections between people and opening up hidden opportunities presented through personal introductions so preparation is everything. In order for you to make the most of your time at this event; we have arranged a few ideas to help you get your pitch just right. It’s not difficult; all you have to do is give a little thought to each of these aspects.
- Know your business, and know it well;
- Be able to describe what you do and who you do it for in a few clear sentences; and
- Know what you want and need from networking and what you have to offer.
Your networking pitch is sometimes called a 'lift statement' or 'elevator pitch' as it should be something you can say in the time it takes to go a few floors in a lift with a perfect stranger! Remember to listen as well as talk, especially when building your confidence. Just doing it is great practice for your pitch and soon you will have it finely honed.
Why not come join us in the Ramada Viking Hotel on Wednesday the 25th June at 6.00 pm.
